Help with Clipmento

Email support@clipmento.app. Include your device, operating-system version, Clipmento version, and the steps that led to the problem. Share screenshots only after removing private content.

Next-update guide: Collections, templates, archives, Android OCR and the new Mac workflow controls below describe test builds. If a control is missing from your installed store version, it has not reached that version yet.

Mac: find and reuse a copy

Finish the welcome guide, copy something in another app, then press ⌘Escape or open Clipboard History from the menu bar. Search or choose a filter. Press Return or ⌘1–9, or choose an item with the mouse, to paste it into the app you were using. ⌥Return pastes plain text. Arrow keys only move the preview selection. Automatic pasting requires macOS Accessibility permission.

Mac: automatic paste permission and copy-only mode

Paste automatically is on by default in Settings → General. Choose Allow Automatic Pasting… in the welcome guide or Settings, then enable Clipmento in the permission pane macOS opens. In System Settings → Privacy & Security, this pane is called Accessibility or Device Control and Data Access, depending on your macOS version. The first choice without permission is copied and shows the permission request; after granting permission, return to your destination and choose the item again. Clipmento does not paste an earlier selection later without another choice.

To copy items and paste them yourself with ⌘V, turn Paste automatically off. If permission is denied or the destination is unavailable, the chosen content remains on the clipboard for manual pasting. Paste with a single click is a separate setting: it is on for new preferences, while an existing double-click preference is kept. With it off, double-click an item or use the keyboard to activate it.

Mac: history is empty

Check whether recording is paused, the source app is excluded, or its content type is disabled. Clipmento skips recognized sensitive clipboard markers. If macOS offers a Paste from Other Apps permission setting for Clipmento, review it in System Settings. Clipmento cannot override a denied system permission.

Mac: files or image text are unavailable

Keep the original file available and copy it again from Finder to refresh permission. File history is not a backup. Recognition depends on supported formats, image quality, language, and configured size limits; some images contain no recognizable text.

Mac: change shortcuts or recover a hidden menu icon

Launch Clipmento again from Applications to open Settings. Change the shortcut or show the menu bar icon there. Login-item behavior is controlled by macOS; if requested, approve Clipmento in System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions.

Free trial and Clipmento Pro

Every feature is free for 14 days. On the Mac, choose Start 14-Day Free Trial in the welcome guide or in Settings → Pro; on Android the trial starts when you first open the app. After the trial your history keeps recording and stays searchable, and your 3 most recent items stay usable. Buy Clipmento Pro once to use everything; there is no subscription. If Clipmento Pro seems locked after buying it or on another device, choose Restore Purchases in Settings → Pro (Mac) or the Clipmento Pro card in Settings (Android) while signed in to the store account that bought it. A Mac purchase does not unlock Android, or the reverse.

Mac: purchases and updates

Use the same Apple Account to download Clipmento again, install updates and restore Clipmento Pro. There is no Clipmento license key. Apple handles purchase receipts and refund requests through Report a Problem.

Earlier local development versions

The App Store edition uses a separate sandbox data folder. An earlier development copy's history remains in its original Application Support folder. Contact support for migration guidance before changing either folder; do not run both versions at once.

Android: save and reuse something

Finish the welcome guide, then tap Paste, write a note or snippet, choose an image, or use another app's Share menu and choose Clipmento. Background clipboard recording is not used. Open a saved item to copy or share it. Android and the receiving app control what happens to that copy.

Android: library limits and deletion

Use Settings to select a history duration. The default is 30 days; pins and snippets remain until you delete them. Clear history has a separate option to include pins and snippets. The library keeps up to 500 ordinary items and 100 images, with limits of 20 MB per image and 100 MB for all images. Expired history is removed when you open or use the app. Imported images are private copies; deleting them does not delete their originals.

Android: backup and purchases

Android cloud backup and device transfer are disabled for Clipmento's library. Uninstalling or clearing app storage removes it. Use Google Play for updates and to download Clipmento again; reinstalling does not restore a deleted local library. Next update: organize and reuse text

Create a collection to keep related clips together, then move selected items into it. Name and edit snippets for reusable text. Template fields such as {name} ask you for a value before reuse; {date} and {time} insert the current UTC date or time, and double braces around a field name keep it as literal text. Preview text transformations or combined text before copying or saving the result; the original clips are kept.

Next update: make a backup or move between devices

Open Backups & transfer on Android or the export/import controls in Mac history. Choose a library archive to preserve supported text, images and collections, or TXT/CSV for text-only export. Password protection encrypts library archives; TXT and CSV are unencrypted. Save the file somewhere you control and keep the password safely. On the destination device choose Restore or import, provide the password if needed, inspect additions, duplicates and warnings, then import. This is manual transfer, not cloud sync.

Mac original files and their access permissions are not included. Re-copy original files in Finder if their references are unavailable after restoration. Android skips file-reference entries, and Mac rich text becomes plain text on Android. Existing records are kept; imported ordinary history follows the destination’s retention limits. Verify the imported results before deleting your source archive.

Next update: extract text from an Android image

Open a saved image and choose Extract text (English). Review and correct the result, then save it with the image. You can copy the recognized text or find it through search. The model is bundled and works offline. Clear, upright English text gives the best results; handwriting, other languages and low-resolution images may not be recognized accurately.

Next update: Mac queue and Shortcuts

Add clips to the paste queue and arrange their order. Use the queue’s next-item action each time you want to copy or paste; Clipmento does not observe unrelated global paste keys. Apple Shortcuts provides Save Text, Create Snippet, Find Clips and Get Clip Text actions. The current trial/Pro and presentation controls apply to retrieved content. A shortcut that sends text to another app or service follows that destination’s rules.

Next update: privacy during a presentation

Turn on Presentation Privacy on Mac to conceal clipboard content and disable content retrieval while you share your screen. This is manual concealment, not a password lock or encrypted storage. The extra capture-exclusion option is best effort: modern recording tools can ignore it. Verify the visible state before sharing. Turn Presentation Privacy off when you want to use your history again.
