Publisher: Mihail Duchev. This policy covers Clipmento for macOS and Android, including pre-release test builds, and this website. It describes the implemented editions; a policy page does not mean a store release is already available. Collections, templates, portable archives, Android image text extraction, and Mac queue, Shortcuts and presentation controls described below apply to the next-update test builds until they reach your installed store version.
macOS: clipboard history stays on your Mac
After you finish the welcome guide, Clipmento records supported content you copy: text and formatting, images, file references and permission bookmarks, source application information, timestamps, pins, snippets, collections, saved searches, and text recognized in images. These records are stored locally in the app's sandbox. Image text recognition runs on your Mac.
Clipmento does not transmit your clipboard history to the publisher or a cloud service. It does not use advertising, tracking, or analytics SDKs. No Clipmento account is required.
macOS: choosing and pasting content
When you activate a saved item, Clipmento places it on the macOS clipboard. Automatic pasting is on by default and, with your macOS Accessibility permission, sends the paste keyboard shortcut to the app you were using. The receiving app handles the pasted content under its own settings and privacy practices. You can turn off Paste automatically in Settings and paste manually instead. Clipmento does not use this permission to read other apps' accessibility contents or monitor your typing. Without permission or an available destination, the item remains copied for you to paste. Clipmento does not control copies already pasted into another app.
macOS: controls and retention
Pause recording, disable content types, exclude applications, and choose retention periods in Settings. Delete individual items or type clear in history search to choose a cleanup scope. Pins and snippets remain until you remove them. In next-update builds, items in collections are also kept outside ordinary history cleanup while they remain in a collection. Content marked as concealed, transient, or automatically generated by cooperating apps is skipped. This is not a guarantee that every password or sensitive item can be detected; pause or exclude apps when needed.
macOS: files, security, and backups
Copied files remain at their original locations. Clipmento stores file references and sandbox access bookmarks, not backups of the originals. Deleting a history entry does not delete its source file. The history database and stored image/formatting files use local file permissions and the macOS sandbox; Clipmento does not independently encrypt them. Protect your Mac with a login password and FileVault. System or user-managed backups may retain earlier history after deletion; manage those copies using your backup tools.
Android: you choose what to save
The Android edition reads the first clipboard item when you tap Paste while Clipmento is open. You can also type a note or snippet, choose an image through the system picker, share text or images to Clipmento, or select text in another app and choose Clipmento. Incoming shared content is imported after the welcome guide. The app does not monitor your clipboard in the background or use an Accessibility service. Launcher shortcuts and the next update’s Save clipboard Quick Settings tile open the app before a requested clipboard read; the tile does not display your clips.
Text, optional titles, creation and usage times, pins, snippet flags, collections, and any recognized image text are stored in a local SQLite database. Saved searches and display preferences are stored in local app preferences. Imported images are copied into Clipmento's private app storage; this differs from the Mac edition's references to original files. The app does not retain permission to the original image after importing its copy. Original image metadata may remain in the copied image. The image provider you choose may use its own service to make a selected image available.
Android: retention, deletion, and sharing
Ordinary history defaults to 30 days. In Settings you can choose 7, 30, or 90 days, or Forever. Expired items are removed when you open or use the app, and only the newest 500 ordinary items are kept. Pins and snippets stay until you remove them. In next-update builds, items in collections are also kept outside ordinary history cleanup while they remain in a collection. You can delete individual items or clear history; ordinary history clearing keeps saved items unless you select the option to delete them too. Deleting an imported image removes Clipmento's private copy, not the original held by its source provider.
Copy places the selected text or image on Android's system clipboard. Share sends the selected text or gives the receiving app temporary read access to the selected image, including metadata in that image. The receiving app and Android handle that content under their own settings and policies. Clipmento does not control copies you have already pasted or shared elsewhere.
Android: device storage and backups
The Android edition's only network access is Google Play Billing, which Clipmento uses to show the Clipmento Pro price, complete a purchase, and check whether you own Clipmento Pro. Google's billing library and Google Play handle that communication, including any diagnostic information the library sends to Google, under Google's privacy policy. The Android edition has no publisher account, advertising, analytics SDK, or cloud sync, and Clipmento does not upload your library. It uses Android's private app storage without adding its own database or image encryption. Protect your device with a screen lock. Android cloud backup and device transfer are disabled for the library; uninstalling the app or clearing its storage removes the local library. Keep a separate copy of anything you need to retain; next-update builds provide explicit library-file export and import as described below. Privacy, terms, and support links open in your browser, which makes website requests separately from the app.
On-device tools and image text
Template fields, text transformations, combining items, search and color or link detection run locally. They do not contact an AI service or fetch webpage previews. A detected link, email address, phone number or street address opens another app only when you choose its action; that app and its provider then apply their own privacy practices.
Android’s next update offers English text recognition on saved images using a bundled Tesseract model. Recognition happens on your device without uploading the image or downloading a model. You can review and correct the result before saving it with the image; saved results become searchable and can be copied or included in an archive. Recognition may be incomplete or inaccurate. Mac image text recognition continues to use Apple Vision locally.
Portable archives and manual transfer
When you choose Export, Clipmento writes the selected supported library content to a destination you choose through the system file picker. An archive can include text, images, recognized image text, titles, timestamps, pins, snippets and collections. Mac archives may also include rich-text formatting and original file paths. Original files and their permission bookmarks are not backed up; Android skips Mac file-reference entries and uses plain text in place of Mac rich-text formatting. Export warnings identify unsupported or unavailable content.
You can protect a library archive with a password. Protected archives use AES-256-GCM encryption with a key derived from that password using PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256. Clipmento does not store or recover the password. This protection applies to the exported archive, not to the working database or images in app storage. Unprotected archives, plain-text exports and CSV exports contain readable content. Choose their destinations carefully; a file provider or sharing app you select may copy or upload them under its own rules.
Import shows a preview and adds supported records while keeping existing items and skipping matching duplicates. Imported history remains subject to the destination’s retention and storage limits. This is manual file transfer, with no background device synchronization, publisher account or publisher-operated storage. Deleting a library item does not erase an archive or copy you saved elsewhere.
Mac Shortcuts, paste queue and presentation privacy
Clipmento’s Apple Shortcuts actions can save supplied text, create snippets, find accessible clips and return a selected clip’s text. They require local device authentication and check the current trial/Pro and presentation state. Shortcuts can retain clip identifiers and display titles; text you retrieve may be passed to other actions or services you configure. Review a shortcut before running it.
The paste queue contains items you explicitly select. It advances only when you use its paste or copy-next action; Clipmento does not monitor arbitrary global copy or paste keys. Presentation Privacy hides clipboard content in Clipmento and disables retrieval actions until you turn it off. It does not encrypt the library, require a separate password or remove copies already held by another app. The optional capture-exclusion request may be ignored by modern screen-sharing or recording tools; it is not a guarantee against capture.
Undo after deletion
Next-update builds can briefly keep the most recent ordinary deletion in memory so you can choose Undo. This window lasts up to 30 seconds and can end sooner if you delete again, clear history or close the app. Bulk history clearing and retention cleanup do not provide an archive or persistent trash folder. Copies in backups and exported files are managed separately.
Apple services for the Mac edition
Apple handles App Store transactions, including the free trial and Clipmento Pro in-app purchases, and any diagnostic sharing you enable with Apple. Clipmento reads the resulting purchase records on your Mac to decide which items are usable and does not send them to the publisher. The publisher may receive aggregated store reports and crash diagnostics through Apple's developer services; these are not clipboard uploads by Clipmento. Universal Clipboard is an Apple service controlled through macOS and your Apple Account. Apple processes data under its own privacy policy.
Google services for the Android edition
Google handles Google Play downloads, transactions, and diagnostic reporting offered through its services under Google's privacy policy. The publisher may receive store reports, transaction information made available for purchase support, and crash diagnostics through developer services. These are separate from your local library; they are not clipboard uploads by Clipmento.
Support correspondence
If you email support, Mihail Duchev receives your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send, and uses them to answer and troubleshoot your request. Do not include private clipboard contents unless necessary. Support correspondence is kept while resolving your request and for up to 12 months afterward, unless a longer legal retention period applies. Request access or deletion by email.
Support mail sent to support@clipmento.app is forwarded through Cloudflare Email Routing to the publisher's Apple iCloud Mail inbox. Cloudflare processes routed messages to deliver them, and Apple provides the mailbox used to receive and retain support correspondence. These providers handle the email contents, attachments, and delivery information needed for those services. See Cloudflare's privacy policy and Apple's privacy information.
Your privacy requests
You can delete your local clipboard records using Clipmento's controls. The publisher cannot retrieve, export, or erase records stored only on your device. For personal information you have sent to support, contact the email below to request access, correction, or deletion. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to object, restrict processing, request a portable copy, or complain to your local data protection authority. These rights are subject to applicable law.

For privacy questions, support correspondence requests, or concerns, email support@clipmento.app. Material changes will be published here with an updated effective date. An iOS edition or a feature that changes these data practices requires a new review and policy update before release.
Website hosting
This static website is hosted by Cloudflare. It has no publisher-added analytics, advertising trackers, contact form, or mailing-list form. Cloudflare may process ordinary delivery and security information, including IP addresses, browser information, requested URLs, and request times. Provider processing and retention follow the applicable service configuration and Cloudflare Privacy Policy. Cloudflare delivers these pages through its global network, so website request information may be processed outside your country. The app data practices described above are separate from these website requests. Opening a store link takes you to Apple's or Google's service and privacy policy.
